The warm summer air is thick with sound <br />The noise of cricket chirping and owls cooing <br />While in the darkness I rest under ivy pillars on the ground <br />I look out to see the dim world with the night time pursing <br /> <br />Life on this midsummers night is just a play <br />I am on the stage as one of the tragic cast <br />With no where to call home, always roaming, no place to stay <br />And the audience are the people of my past <br /> <br />I look across the river and see the dots of light <br />People in their warm houses resting <br />While I am here, in the black velvet of night <br />And at this hour, peace is all I should be requesting <br /> <br />Under the moonlight sky the night passes by <br />And so the moments slowly die<br /><br />Peter Vector<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/a-lone-summer-midnight/
