Let me be free. <br />Let me speak the way I want to speak. <br />Hold me back no more. <br />Don’t tell me I’m wrong anymore. <br />I will no longer listen to you. <br />I will no longer follow in a line. <br />I will no longer just stand by and watch as we die. <br />I will stand up for what I believe in. <br />I will fight the never ending fight. <br />I will now speak what I believe to be true. <br />I will no longer hide in fear of being shot down. <br />I will stand up and be proud. <br />I’ll be who I want to be not you who wish me to be. <br />I’ll break free of the enslavement that I must endure. <br />Let it be heard and seen that the truth must be heard. <br />That the truth must be spoken. <br />I no longer see the lies; I see nothing but the truth. <br />So now I call on you to help spread the truth. <br />Speak the lies no more, and tell everyone the truth. <br />No longer be enslaved, and shackled to the lies we were told. <br />Believe in what is true, and speak to be free. <br />Break free from what they want. <br />And remember what it felt like to dream. <br />Dream of a better world, and help it be. <br />Dream to be free once again <br />So join in the fight to be free once again.<br /><br />Kelsea Osterman<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/to-be-free-8/
