She looked over her shoulder <br />And her soul was emblazoned in fear at what she saw, <br />For the world, it seemed, had crept up on her. <br />With its rushing and its pressure, <br />Its coming and its going, <br />Its highlights and its dark places. <br />She was afraid, because she was just one light <br />In a world of a million. <br />She was not ready for the world, <br />But she found a smile when she looked upon it <br />And saw, with relief, that neither was anybody else. <br />And with the entire world in front of her, <br />She set her feet surely and allowed herself to say <br />what confidence her soul had gathered <br />'I long to be there, too '<br /><br />BRANDEN B.
