Words are untouchable things <br />Syllables of shining gold <br />Lively grave can words be <br />And cherished by the young and old <br /> <br />Words shine in pools of sun <br />And bask in walls of hate <br />They cover the world in love <br />Love for the live and the late <br /> <br />Words light up midnight blackness <br />As beacons in the dark <br />They rid the world of misery <br />Yet have before torn it apart <br /> <br />Words are artworks in the making <br />Of brilliant quality paints <br />Words are muderous and spiteful <br />Though they're lovers, teachers and saints <br /> <br />Words can start a war <br />With they're violent hurtful fist <br />They can punch a hole through a heart <br />With a painful remark hissed <br /> <br />But words can beg forgiveness <br />And mend a swollen soul <br />They can fix a broken heart <br />And fill a bottomless hole <br /> <br />A life without words <br />Would be no life at all <br />So listen to mine now <br />As it's you that home I call<br /><br />Caitlin Donovan<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/words-391/
