Our Lord awakens the earth with <br />The sweet sound of song birds <br />And the sound of a roosters crow <br />The sun rises and the dew evaporates <br />Mankind scurries to greet the new day <br />With a prayer of thanksgiving <br /> <br />Children wake and wipe the sleep <br />From their little eyes <br />Then soon hurry off to play <br />Or off to school <br /> <br />Squirrels run around gathering food <br />And suddenly they run away <br />To search for more elsewhere <br /> <br />The clattering of plates can be heard <br />As dinner upon the table is served <br />Before folks know it <br />Night-time will fall <br /> <br />The sun is setting <br />The sky is multi-colored <br />With orange, gray, and blue <br /> <br />The birds fly quickly <br />To the safety of brush or trees <br />Calling after one another <br />To come home now the day is done <br /> <br />All the world should now be ready <br />For a restful night but let us not forget: <br />To give our Lord thanks <br />And praise; for another <br />Picture perfect day!<br /><br />Becky LaPrarie<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/another-picture-perfect-day/
