to survive the storms that come <br />within us raging <br />outside this body is the calm and quiet <br />people simply do not know <br />what is happening & <br />they do not ask simple because <br />they have no right to invade the fences of our privacy <br />we wear many faces <br />some many pretenses <br />masks <br />and when we are alone facing the mirror <br />we take everything <br />and see that innermost face <br />the last layer <br />that tells us the truth of our existence <br />and then we begin <br />that talk: that honest conversation <br />without any taint <br />or blame <br />only that gentility of the spirit <br />that forgiving arm <br />embracing <br />a shoulder because it is cold and <br />the feeling <br />is shattered.<br /><br />RIC S.
