People say knights have long died away,
But I know of one who is still here today,
At birth he was blessed with a silver tongue,
To enchant those he loves with words he has spun.
When he walks outside, the gold rays shine brighter,
And when he graces a room, everyone’s heart does feel lighter.
When he smiles his captivating eyes light up with a fire,
And his beauty is that which makes artists inspired.
I,
Was lucky enough to fall in love with this knight,
And for a few days I was able to touch a piece of heaven; and I help on oh so tight.
But then the very thing, that made him so noble,
Was the exact same thing that made him immobile.
A heart so pure, it could be made of crystal,
But it’s so full of honor that it could light up a pistol.
And that; is the very thing that took him away,
But it’s also what makes him a knight still to this day.
And for this; I love him even more,
Even though our love could never fully be explored.
He left me with a treasure that I’ll always look back on,
With smiles and happiness; the feeling will never truly be gone.
I am his Angel, and he is my Knight,
And I’m so happy that he did what he felt was right,
Because even though I can’t call him mine anymore,
We still remain friends, though we closed the past’s door.
But at night sometimes the door will occasionally need mending,
And in dreams we’ll still be lost in a time full of happily ever endings;
Where riding off into the sunset, is a knight;
And a girl with wings.

angel lockheart

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/my-knight-10/
