Through the distance I thought I’d heal
Looking at the horizon surrounded by seas
Water and skies, endless boundaries
I kept on staring as far as I can see.

But someone come to search and found me
He had saved me million times, now he came to rescue me
He tenderly held my hands and offered me his love
I paused for a moment and said no after while.

I honestly told him that I do not deserve
A love so pure that I cannot repay
For the love I have still wasn’t for him
But for the person that I have chosen to leave

He understood and bid his farewell
Then he silently let go off my hand.
He told me something that cleared my mind.
I have to come back and claim what is mine.

I returned home to come back to you.
I’m not quite sure if there’s to return to.
I gather my courage and tried to find you.
I find it hard to breathe when I laid my eyes on you.

I reach out but you stepped away
It struck me to death when you asked why I’m here.
Said that you’ve changed, realized what it means.
Said it is too late, you have forgotten everything.

Still I tried the only way I know how
Just live up the past that we happily had
But you showed no sign, no single recognition
Not a single hint I need to pursue my mission

I never wanted to be tired at all
But it seems that I’m digging up the painful
Thinking you’d be happier if you moved on
Again I decided to let you on your own

But even when I thought that I can let go
I can’t help but give my whole heart to you
Just one more chance, chance to show you love
Cause I’ll drown in my own tears, leaving you behind

diana rose tolentino

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-story-of-us-2-2/
