I died last night while I slept, <br />And I knew it was coming, as I wept. <br />There was no feeling of any remorse <br />No reason for a change of course. <br /> <br />It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, <br />I saw my whole life in one, two three. <br />There was no pain or after thoughts, <br />No last regrets and no what not's. <br /> <br />The angels came and guided me, <br />I thought only two but there were three. <br />They surrounded me with their loving wings <br />You can only imagine what peace it brings. <br /> <br />I died last night while I slept, <br />And I knew it was coming, as I wept. <br />There was no feeling of any remorse <br />No reason for a change of course <br /> <br />Life has its limits, and I had reached mine. <br />I knew it was coming, I knew it was time. <br />And though my leaving makes me sad, <br /> I thank the sweet lord for all I had <br /> <br /> <br />Spirits that are with me, thanks for your hands <br />Thanks for your support to the promised lands. <br />My transition to my new life is all but done, <br />And I see happiness, love, and fun in the sun. <br /> <br />I died last night while I slept, <br />And I knew it was coming, as I wept. <br />There was no feeling of any remorse <br />No reason for a change of course <br /> <br />Don't weep for me, or mourn my loss, <br />Don't wish that it never was. <br />Life has its cycle, we all have our time. <br />We all have a destiny and this was mine. <br /> <br />REB (FEB 2012) Everyone has strange Dreams - or was it?<br /><br />Rik Bertrand<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/i-died-last-night/
