What if your life was a leaf on a tree, <br />and one day a great wind blows, <br />pulls your leaf from its limb, <br />you flutter down to the stream below, <br /> <br />once landing on water, <br />your leaf floats downstream, <br />many obstacles in your way, <br />and what do you do? <br /> <br />your leaf floats, <br />no control from you, <br />the rapids get rough, <br />dead limbs blocking you, <br /> <br />you must keep moving, no choice to choose, <br />the water is always running, <br />or its rotting in the stream, <br />is the rivers destination for you, <br /> <br />luckily, life has free will, <br />its not controlled by the stream, <br />tho' the rapids are still there, <br />life flourishes, cause it has dreams, <br /> <br />in our river of life, <br />we must choose the path to float, <br />n' the rapids to climb, <br />but with dreams on the horizon, <br />the dream's wind push your leaf along, <br /> <br />because life is a leaf in a stream, <br />with your free will in control, <br />keep moving your leaf forward, <br />with your dreams a bridled so.<br /><br />Richard McClellan<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/river-of-life-10/
