I caught a glimpse of you—
While I was riding a train
I saw you walking down the street
and I asked myself what will
it take to have her...
do I need a special key to unlock
the place of her that is secret
even to her; so secret that the
very soul of her cannot fathom
where it is hid? And yet, I keep
trying even to the point that
I've started studying everything
I've tried. For you see, the hit
and miss method has afforded
me nothing; although, I realize
I should know better because
chance Has never been kind to me.
I've never been lucky at things
like this, not like some people
that get it all and have it all.
I don't care, my darling, if
you're committed to something
vowed or someone for I wish
only to share the bit of me that
you'll enjoy and nothing more
than I'll enjoy. So I've resorted
to field notes filled with symbols
and scientific notations, drawings
and pictures, shorthand indicating
your moods by way of your silence,
smiles and frowns, the glow and dim
of your gaze; but, I've only
managed to loose myself in the
beauty of your unpredictable
disposition for the waves emitting
your aura serve merely to titillate
and entice me, to frustrate and
twist me and again I'm left holding
nothing but the desperate yearn
swinging within me like a pendulum
tolling from the steeple of my
desire, the bell clanging endlessly
within the sealed hollow of me....

©2011 j.a.o.a.
©2011 Jose' Antonio Orellana Artolozaga

Jose' Antonio Orellana Artolozaga

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/i-caught-a-glimpse-of-you/
