The sword clattered to the ground <br />As the lovely Maiden stepped forward <br />His eyes glazed over <br />Such beauty he had never seen before <br />He was trapped within her gaze <br />None knew what he felt <br />The earth had ceased to exist to the knight <br />He was far from this realm <br />Lost in the depths of a sea of love <br />He did not know her name but he cared not <br />He was forever hers <br />He forever belonged the unknown maiden <br />He knew not what to do <br />Lost was he within her eyes <br />Her arms spread wide and took him in her grasp <br />His eyes shut <br />A single tear rolled down his cheek <br />The tear traced down his face <br />It dripped silently from his chin <br />Splashing into the pool of blood that laid in front of the knight <br />He was gone <br />Gone forever into the embrace of his mysterious maiden <br /> <br />(© December 14,2011)<br /><br />Phillip Dodham Cormier<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-knight-2/
