As I walk on the moist grass <br />Looking around in the pale light <br />At the flowers colored like rusted brass <br />And trees whistling in the lonely night. <br /> <br />Finding a place to sit alone was not too hard <br />Listening to the sound of insects and birds <br />More melodious than the song of the bard <br />With rhythmic beats from faraway footsteps of leopards. <br /> <br />For an hour shamelessly I stare <br />At the face of the dark sky <br />Interrupting privacy of stars and moon – the lovely pair <br />Can’t tear my gaze even if hard I try. <br /> <br />I start thinking of words to describe the scene <br />After sometime I give up reluctantly <br />When this beauty started to feel like a dream <br />I stood up and walked back home silently.<br /><br />Aditi Khandelwal<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/a-night-in-the-woods/
