As I watch the horizon’s silhouettes melt away
‘Tis the dawn of the night,
Through the musk from the day
By the rocking turmoil of the ferry
The view is unclear
But I listen for the angels
Directing the steer

I worry, I think
Where am I now?
The clouds are so gray
Maybe I should have stayed
But I hang on to my hopes
And look toward the bow.

And though it is
So murky, I’m high
I remember how I chanted
This at the sky,
“Do not look away,
Keep your eye on your dreams”
I’m stubborn, they say
So let’s keep it that way.

My eyes sting,
Drink is a lack,
It makes no sense
But I cannot turn back
And so many troubles
Haunt me from the past
Yet I have no problem
Holding up my own mast

I will be a trailblazer
A real face, in this new land
I imagine their glances
As I’ll hold my head high
The queen of resonance
The Catcher in the Rye

‘Tis not too late now
But I hold my stance
Maybe there have been some times
When I faltered too soon,
But nobody’s going to remember me that way;
They'll chant, “She may sink with the sun,
But she'll rise with the moon.”

Marinara Sauce Chen

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/new-beginnings-6/
