What does she think- <br />This woman with the flowing hair <br />Locked behind the looking glass. <br />Is this her image for all to see? <br />And does she really care? <br />No pastel chalk can erase her gray- <br />Nor misty sentiment iron out her wrinkles. <br />What artist dare to define her, <br />With charcoal stick that draws her curves- <br />Outlined on crowded history of canvas. <br />What poet challenges themselves to write <br />Verse about her inner thoughts, that are <br />So closely guarded. <br />What does she think- <br />This woman with a comforting touch <br />Uncomfortably dressed in camouflage. <br />Buried deep within her lies strong - <br />Restless - desire... <br />She knows her place - her mirrored image <br />Her eyes betray her feelings. <br />What does she think while staring back... <br />Her thoughts written with ink-smudged fingers <br />Arranged in stacks of crumbled paper.<br /><br />Nancy M.
