Written: 11th Grade <br />About: DaNaizsha Perez <br /> <br />As I look into your hazel eyes <br />I remember each and every time I've said goodbye <br /> <br />Said goodbye without telling you what I want to say <br />Said goodbye without telling you what I am today <br /> <br />I know how it feels when someone breaks your heart <br />Reality hits and your life is torn apart <br /> <br />The perfect relationship that you thought you had <br />The person you thought would get you through the bad <br /> <br />Was slowly fading away piece by piece <br />Until everything you worked for suddenly ceased <br /> <br />After the tears have dried you're left all alone <br />To pick up the pieces of a life that once shone <br /> <br />I've been through this before and you have too <br />So you know everything I'm saying today is true <br /> <br />Don't ever love again is what my heart told me to do <br />But my heart didn't account for the fact that I'd find you <br /> <br />You stole my heart like a thief in the night <br />And I let you in and didn't put up a fight <br /> <br />I need you to get me to where I need to be <br />I need it to be just you and me <br /> <br />Because poem after poem I write as a relief <br />From all the feelings I have of disbelief <br /> <br />Disbelief of ever being happy <br />Disbelief of not feeling sappy <br /> <br />Time after time we wait so long <br />Before realizing who was there all along <br /> <br />The opportunity to change things is now gone <br />But with you I hope to start a new dawn <br />A dawn with you by my side <br />A person in which I can confide <br /> <br />A hundred percent I'm ready to put in <br />Even though loving you seems like a sin <br /> <br />Everything about you seems too good to be true <br />Making me think I'll never be with you <br /> <br />But I can't let you go and have my love die <br />So to be with you I have to try<br /><br />Jonathan Sewell<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/18-a-similar-story/
