Written: 11th Grade
About: DaNaizsha Perez

If you're the one to rescue me from my horrid life
Then why has my happiness been laid victim to your scythe
Why is love now a cyanide that has torn me apart
Its poisonous reaches now blackening my heart
Happiness was an emotion more sacred than all the rest
Now it's been defiled and has become ephemeral at best
For you're the beauty and I am the beast
And you'll never love me to say the least
I'll be a neophyte when it comes to someone loving me
Sitting here as despondent as can be
I'll always fatuously wait for that special girl
Trapped in a purgatory as the loneliest guy in the world
And on a quotidian basis do tears flow through my eyes
My love have been wounded and left there to die
The crying leads to sadness, the sadness back to tears
Starting a perpetual cycle eliciting my worst fears
Once the tourniquet keeping my love from bleeding out
You've become the abrazer of my heart without a doubt
Yet still I'll go on loving you
Prepossessed with everything that you do
With this last poem, the book is finally complete
After twenty five poems, the last one ends in defeat

Jonathan Sewell

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/24-last-poem/
