Now that I am rehabilitated, <br />and feeling better. <br />I wish to be the spokesperson, <br />To deliver, <br />an emotionally powerful speech, <br />to the public, <br />about war soldiers, <br />and the pain that I felt then, <br />and how, <br />today I have started to forgive myself. <br /> <br />For the wrong that I have done, <br />and committed, <br />so many years ago, <br />oppose to those who still have, <br />not been rehabilitated, <br />because of now save-the-children, <br />a group of people for kids in Uganda. <br /> <br />Unlike UNICEF which removed me, <br />from the war, <br />when they could, <br />when they would've been the most able to, <br />save me! <br />With that said, <br />I thank you, <br />UNICEF, <br />UNICEF you have saved my life, <br />as well as many others, <br />and rehabilitated me, <br />to the point that I fully, <br />understood that it really is not my fault, <br />it was a life or death situation, <br />and I chose life, <br />rather than death!<br /><br />Mandy Howard<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/point-of-view-of-ishmael-beah-child-soldier/
