As flakes fall softly through the chilling air <br />And land one on another all around <br />They cover what was previously bare <br />Obscuring details of the rocky ground <br /> <br />The snow creates a soft un-trodden layer <br />That hushes all the sounds of normal life <br />And in so doing leaves us unaware <br />Of vexing troubles and our daily strife <br /> <br />And so it is that God created snow <br />To help each one of us to comprehend <br />The beauty we will surely come to know <br />Once life on earth at last comes to an end<br /><br />Richard Lackman<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/snow-29/
