Boy-band One Direction were the big winners at the MTV Europe Music Awards.<br/> <br />The British pop group took home Best Pop, Best Live and Biggest Fans prizes at the show.<br/> <br />While rapper Nicki Minaj, who hosted the ceremony, picked up the award for Best Hip Hop song.<br/> <br />Newcomer Ariana Grande beat Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry and Minaj to win Best Female and her single "Problem" won best song.<br/> <br />Rock veteran Ozzy Osborne collected a Global Icon award and Irish rock U2 performed "Every Breaking Wave".<br/> <br />This was the twentieth anniversary of the awards.
