Hundreds of students barricaded school entrances across Paris and held demonstrations on Thursday against alleged police brutality.<br /><br /> It’s the latest in three weeks of protests since the death of 21-year-old botany student Remi Fraisse.<br /><br /> He was killed during a march against plans to build a dam in southwestern France. His death has been blamed on a grenade fired by police which hit him in the back, getting lodged between his back pack and clothes before exploding.<br /><br /> Protesters say Francois Hollande’s government has blood on its hands and tried to cover up the facts.<br /><br /> Leaked recordings of conversations show police knew straight away that a man had died. However the police and government did not confirm the death until 48 hours later.<br /><br /> The controversial dam project in Sivens would destroy a biodiversity reservoir but those in favour of it say it will ensure irrigation for local farmers.
