ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)<br /> <br />U.S. President Barack Obama, speaking at a news conference in Myanmar, said on Friday (November 14) he would take action to reform U.S. immigration policy before the end of the year.<br /> <br />The New York Times reported Obama plans to announce an overhaul of U.S. immigration policy through executive action that would shield up to 5 million undocumented immigrants from deportation.<br /> <br />"The minute the pass a bill that I can sign that fixes our immigration system, then any executive actions I take are replaced, so they have the ability to fix the system," Obama told reporters. "What they don't have the ability to do is to expect me to standby with a broken system, in perpetuity."<br /> <br />Obama said the immigration bill would bring the immigrants living in the United States out of the shadow, where one could start paying tax and earn a better welfare.
