Explosions rock the Syrian border town of Kobani.<br/> <br />A relentless battle for control within... as Kurdish fighters fire on Islamic State militants who are attempting to fully seize the town.<br/> <br />On Friday, U.S. Central Command said U.S.-led air strikes hit 10 units of Islamic State fighters in Syria in recent days.<br/> <br />It said the strikes also targeted militants with the al Qaeda-linked Khorasan Group.<br/> <br />The strikes come as the top U.S top military officer says the momentum in the battle with Islamic State was "starting to turn".<br/> <br />But General Martin Dempsey, on a surprise trip to Baghdad, also predicted a drawn-out campaign lasting several years.<br/> <br />In Kobani, damaged buildings speak of recent battles -- while the explosions remind neighboring Turkey that the war with IS is far from over.
