This observation tower in the middle of the Amazon jungle in Brazil will monitor the effects of climate change.<br/> <br />It will soar 325 metres above the ground when it's completed at the end of this year. And, it'll be the tallest of its kind.<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (Portuguese) RESEARCHER FOR THE NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF RESEARCH INTO THE AMAZON, ANTONIO MANZI, SAYING:<br/> <br />"At this stage in the construction, to have two thirds of the tower already in place is a source of great joy for us."<br/> <br />Researchers say its superior height will allow data collected from the air to be more precise.<br/> <br />Brazil's annual greenhouse gas emission last year increased for the first time since 2004, a report on Wednesday showed.<br/> <br />Environmentalists are urging the government to stop the destruction of the rainforest and reduce the dependency on fossil-fuel.
