Stars of the small screen were celebrated at the International Emmy Awards on Monday, November 24.<br /> <br />Christina Hendricks, Laverne Cox and dozens of other TV personalities walked the red carpet in New York for the glamorous gala.<br /> <br />Before heading into the show, Dutch actress Bianca Krijgsman said she was overwhelmed by her nomination.<br /> <br />SOUNDBITE actress Bianca Krijgsman, saying (English):<br /> <br />"It's such an honor to be - it wasn't for one moment on my mind that I could ever be nominated for an Emmy. I come from such a small country, from Holland."<br /> <br />She was later awarded a trophy for her work on the TV series "The New World".<br /> <br />European television was certainly triumphant on the night, with Britain, Germany and Netherlands leading the charge.<br /> <br />The German mini-series "Unsere Mutter, Unsere Vater", which translates to "Our Mother, Our Father", was named best television movie.<br /> <br />It depicts the diverging paths of five friends during the Second World War.
