Tributes have been paid to British crime writer P.D. James who has died at the age of 94.<br /><br />She was 42 when her first book, “Cover her Face” was published in 1962.<br /><br />Best known for her suave police detective Adam Dalgliesh, she wrote more than 20 books, many of which were adapted for film and TV.<br /><br />P.D. James also worked for the government, including in the forensic science department of the Home Office.<br /><br />British Prime Minister David Cameron said on Twitter that he was saddened to hear of the death of a writer who “thrilled and inspired generations of readers”.
