It seems that even being a Hollywood A-lister isn’t enough to save you from the perils of London traffic – as Tom Cruise discovered while filming Mission Impossible 5 in the capital. <br /> <br />As this video footage shows the star’s valiant attempts to cross a busy road almost ended badly after he stepped off the kerb in Piccadilly Circus – straight in to the path of a double-decker bus. <br />Fortunately he realised his mistake in time – or possibly heard the driver’s frantic hooting – and managed to avoid an accident. <br /> <br />Never mind,Tom, we’ve all done the same thing at some point. <br /> <br />The actor is gearing up to film an elaborate action sequence in the area, which will see his Mission Impossible character Ethan Hunt worming his way through rush-hour crowds. <br /> <br />The film, meanwhile, is due for release on Christmas Day 2015.
