ROUGH CUT - NO REPORTER NARRATION<br/> <br />Demonstrators took to the streets of some cities on the U.S. west coast to protest a decision made by a grand jury across the country in New York City.<br/> <br />The grand jury decided not to charge a white police officer in the chokehold death of an unarmed black man.<br/> <br />The decision touched off protests in Manhattan, and led to protests in other cities as well.<br/> <br />About 200 people joined a demonstration in Seattle that started at the downtown Westlake Center.<br/> <br />The protest was fairly peaceful with some people staging a "die-in" by lying down in the street.<br/> <br />The crowds were bigger in San Francisco and Oakland.<br/> <br />Protesters carrying banners marched and in some cases cycled down the streets, disrupting traffic.<br/> <br />In Oakland, they were stopped by a line of police officers in riot gear before they could get to the police headquarters.
