PLEASE NOTE: EDIT CONTAINS MATERIAL THAT WAS ORIGINALLY 4:3<br /> <br />ROUGH CUT - NO REPORTER NARRATION<br /> <br />Delhi police on Sunday (December 7) arrested an Uber cab driver accused of raping his passenger.<br /> <br />Shiv Kumar Yadav was arrested in the city of Mathura in northern Uttar Pradesh state.<br /> <br />An inquiry was launched after a 26-year-old woman reported she had been sexually assaulted and beaten by the driver of the cab she hired after a social event late on Friday (December 5) in Vasant Vihar, south Delhi.<br /> <br />The cab was hired through Uber, the U.S. online taxi service that has launched an aggressive international expansion.<br /> <br />Police were able to track down the 32-year-old driver even though he had switched off his mobile phone to avoid being traced.<br /> <br />Yadav allegedly dropped the woman home after attacking her and warned her not to inform the authorities.<br /> <br />However she was able to note the number of the vehicle and photograph it as it drove away.
