"Birdman" leads Globe nominees, Dr. Dre highest-earning musician

The surreal show business satire "Birdman," led the Golden Globe Awards film nominations with seven nods making it a frontrunner early in the Hollywood awards season. The story follows a washed-up actor, played by Michael Keaton, attempting a comeback on the Broadway stage. It will compete in the best comedy or musical category with "The Grand Budapest Hotel;" "Into the Woods;" "St. Vincent;" and "Pride."<br/> <br />For the top prize on the drama side, the contenders are coming-of-age drama "Boyhood," World War Two biopic "The Imitation Game" "Foxcatcher," "Selma" and "The Theory of Everything." The Golden Globes will be handed out on January 11.<br/> <br />Dr. Dre is the highest-earning musician of 2014, according to a list complied by Forbes magazine. Forbes claims he made 620 million dollars - more than the rest of the musicians on this year's Forbes Top 10 list, combined.
