ROUGH CUT - NO REPORTER NARRATION<br/> <br />Residents in Sao Paulo struggled with flooding on Thursday (December 11) after two days of heavy rain pounded parts of the city and the larger metropolitan area.<br/> <br />Power was out in some neighbourhoods and water several feet deep inundated roads and damaged homes and businesses.<br/> <br />For many residents in Brazil's largest city, Thursday started with clean-up after an afternoon downpour on Wednesday (December 10) dumped up to 60 millimetres (2.36 inches) of rain on some neighbourhoods.<br/> <br />But many of them struggled in vain after a repeat storm doubled down on the damage Thursday evening.<br/> <br />The two days of wet weather had only minimal effects on Sao Paulo's stressed reservoirs which have been at critically low levels due to a prolonged drought in the state, the worst in 80 years.
