It's been almost a week since the U.S. Senate Intelligence Committee released its report on the CIA torture of detainees, and the report remains a major point of contention in Washington.<br/> <br />U.S. Republican Senator John McCain defended his decision to support the report's release on CBS's "Face the Nation."<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (English) U.S. SENATOR JOHN MCCAIN, ARIZONA REPUBLICAN, SAYING:<br/> <br />"That's what America is all about. We do things wrong. We make mistakes. We review those and we vow never to do those again."<br/> <br />The report found that the CIA had misled the White House and the public about its interrogation program after the 9/11 attacks.<br/> <br />The report found that many of the practices amounted to torture.<br/> <br />Former U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney called the report flawed.<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (English) FORMER U.S. VICE PRESIDENT DICK CHENEY SAYING:<br/> <br />"It came to some very flawed conclusions, such as the president had not been told about the program, which was a lie.
