Shouts of 'civil disobedience' from demonstrators in the last remaining protest site in Hong Kong.<br/> <br />Police cleared the encampment in Causeway Bay shopping district Monday morning after demonstrators had occupied it for more than two months.<br/> <br />Some protesters refused to leave, including a few elderly people, who were then escorted out by police and loaded onto a bus.<br/> <br />It's very sad, this resident said. I'm very disappointed in the government, and don't have hope in them any more.<br/> <br />The protesters were demanding open nominations in the city's next election for chief executive. Beijing has said only pre-screened candidates will be on the ballot.<br/> <br />The mainly peaceful protests have represented one of the most serious challenges to China's authority since the bloody crackdown in Tiananmen Square in 1989.
