Hostages run out of a cafe in Sydney that is still under siege.<br /> <br />One man... then another, were seen running towards heavily armed police. Then, a man wearing a Lindt cafe apron ran out a side door, possibly an employee.<br /> <br />A short while later, two women were seen running- both also appeared to be employees. It's unclear if they were released by their captor, or if they escaped.<br /> <br />Scores of police are on the scene in Sydney's Martin Place district. The area around the building has been cordoned off for blocks.<br /> <br />Onlookers say the situation is unprecedented.<br /> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (English) SYDNEY RESIDENT JOSHUA MARTIN SAYING:<br /> <br />"It's probably the first time in Australian history that something this major in regards to a terrorist threat has happened."<br /> <br />Police say they are in contact with the armed hostage taker, and say while there may be some indication of what his demands are, they are confirming this information.<br /> <br />Deputy New South Wales Police Commissioner
