Sierra Leone is the hardest hit West African nation by the deadly Ebola virus.<br/> <br />Now Britain plans to intensify efforts in the former British colony where the virus is spreading fastest -- although it has slowed in recent weeks.<br/> <br />More than half the 18,000 confirmed cases of Ebola have been detected in Sierra Leone.<br/> <br />UK International Development Secretary Justine Greening is hoping to turn the tide.<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (English) UK INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT SECRETARY, JUSTINE GREENING, SAYING:<br/> <br />"Transmission rates are already falling, but we should be absolutely clear that there is a long way to go in this battle against Ebola. As we are getting out there into the districts, you're seeing the numbers rise because we're getting a truer picture of just how bad this disease is.
