ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)<br/> <br />President Obama and his family arrived in Hawaii to begin their two-week long holiday vacation.<br/> <br />The first family touched down in Air Force One at Pearl Harbor late Friday night.<br/> <br />Obama was greeted by Admiral Samuel Locklear III, the commander of the U.S. Pacific Command.<br/> <br />The president was born and grew up in the state, and is expected to play golf and spend time with his family.<br/> <br />Before boarding Air Force One for Hawaii, the president gave a year-end news conference with a spring in his step, buoyed by a surge in U.S. economic growth and newly confident after having stymied his Republican critics with unilateral actions on immigration and Cuba.<br/> <br />Obama is expected to ring in the new year in Hawaii and return to Washington D.C. in the first week of January.
