Movie director Tim Burton and British actress Helena Bonham Carter have separated after 13 years, says People magazine.<br/> <br />The pair, who never married, parted earlier this year but have remained friends and co-parents to their two children, Carter's representative told People.<br/> <br />Fifty-six-year old Burton met the 48-year-old actress in 2001 while shooting the film "Planet of the Apes".<br/> <br />Since then the pair have worked on several movies together, including "Sweeney Todd" and "Alice in Wonderland".
