ROUGH CUT - NO REPORTER NARRATION<br/> <br />Thai authorities are warning residents in at least seven southern provinces to brace for more flash floods in the coming days as rain shows no sign of letting up.<br/> <br />The Meteorological Department forecast on its website that rain was likely to intensify, especially in Phattalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat provinces.<br/> <br />Accumulative rain is expected from December 28 to January 1, 2015 due to the northeast monsoon across the southern part and the Gulf of Thailand.<br/> <br />In Yala, local authorities were preparing for rising water levels by reinforcing defences.<br/> <br />Thailand's Disaster Prevention and Mitigation department on Friday (December 26) declared disaster zones for eight of its southern provinces.<br/> <br />The floods have claimed the lives of at least 13 people so far and five more have been injured.<br/> <br />More than 184, 000 households have been affected by the rising waters and nearly 8,000 displaced.
