ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)<br/> <br />Powerful images have been released of the Greek air force plucking passengers off a burning ferry adrift in the Adriatic Sea, battling darkness and bad weather that hampered rescue efforts by other ships throughout Sunday (December 28).<br/> <br />Helicopters airlifted passengers off the Italian-flagged Norman Atlantic and transferred them to a nearby vessel, after a dramatic day that began when a fire broke out on its lower deck in the early hours of Sunday.<br/> <br />Authorities said one Greek man had died and there were reports of four injured among 478 passengers and crew as night fell.<br/> <br />Greece's cost guard said 221 people were clear of the danger zone, with 256 still on board. A Greek Defence Ministry official said at least seven passengers had been airlifted from the ship by the Greek air force on Sunday.<br/> <br />The Greek Shipping Ministry said a team of doctors was on board to offer help to those still waiting to be airlifted.<br/> <br />The Italia
