It's a Roman tradition like none other.<br/> <br />Several men take part in the annual Tiber river dive to ring in the New Year, braving frigid waters with nothing but a speedo.<br/> <br />While some took a more elegant leap..<br/> <br />Others got straight to the point.<br/> <br />Diver Maurizio Palmulli says the plunge invigorates him with hope for the year year.<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (Italian) VETERAN DIVER MAURIZIO PALMULLI, KNOWN AS 'MISTER OK', SAYING:<br/> <br />"The message that we want to give every year, it's been 27 years, this is the 27th dive that I have done here, is that Rome is tranquil and peaceful. All the Roman families, it's our best wishes for them, and also in all Italy, in all the world, a wish for peace for everyone, because we all need it - and for us, the only thing we can do is this."<br/> <br />Rescuers were on hand to quickly scoop up each diver before the next took the leap.
