Disney's 'Frozen' soundtrack dominated the US album charts throughout the year.<br/> <br />But it was Taylor Swift's '1989' that finished as 2014's best seller, overtaking 'Frozen' at the last minute.<br/> <br />'1989' sold an unprecedented 3.66 million copies after just nine weeks on sale.<br/> <br />It was also a remarkable breakthrough year for Britain's Sam Smith whose debut album came in third on sales, and racked up six Grammy nominations.<br/> <br />In the UK, Ed Sheeran had the best selling album with his sophomore record 'x' which also topped the US charts.<br/> <br />Sam Smith came in second, while newcomer singer-songwriter George Ezra came in third with his debut album 'Wanted on Voyage.'
