Scientific Facts in the Qur'an - SKY’S PROTECTION <br />The Qur'an is not a book of science but a book of signs, yet it contains some undeniable facts related to science. <br />Islam strongly urges mankind to study and explore the universe and the world around us. <br />Allah has not forbidden mankind to question. Allah tells us throughout the Qur'an to contemplate and investigate the heavens and the earth. <br />Allah says: <br />"Verily! In the creation of the heavens and the earth, and in the alternation of night and day, there are indeed signs for men of understanding." <br />"Who remember Allah while standing or sitting or [lying] on their sides and give thought to the creation of the heavens and the earth, [saying], "Our Lord, You did not create this aimlessly; exalted are You [above such a thing]; then protect us from the punishment of the Fire." <br />(Qur'an 3:190-191) <br />These verses are just a few that strongly imply that "contemplating" the world around us is an integral part of faith. <br />There is a verse in the Qur'an which says: <br />"And We made the sky a protected ceiling, but they, from its signs, are turning away." <br />(Qur'an 21:32)
