The Ebola outbreak in West Africa appears to be slowing down, according to the UN special envoy on the virus, but he added the battle was far from over.<br /><br /> The disease which has already claimed more than 8,000 lives has registered lower numbers of fresh cases in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone as treatment and prevention methods take effect.
