Dozens arrested in anti-terror raids in Belgium, France and Germany

Police have carried out more than a dozen anti-terror raids in France, Belgium and Germany as European governments step up efforts to fight the threat from radical Islamists.<br /><br /> Belgian police detained 15 people on Friday alone. It comes after police raided a flat in Verviers killing two gunmen suspected of an imminent attack. <br /><br /> The country remains on high alert and troops have been called up to boost security, however the prime minister says a specific threat does not exist.<br /><br /> Authorities in Paris detained a dozen or so suspects believed to have aided the gunmen in the attacks in the French capital over one week ago.<br /><br /> In Germany, police swooped on 11 sites in Berlin and arrested two people suspected of terror links to the ISIL militant group.<br /><br /> The scope of the raids reveal the complex reality of the threat from radical Islamists in Europe, many returning from battlefields in Syria and Iraq.
