Egypt: Protests to mark 2011 uprising anniversary turn deadly

In Egypt, the fourth anniversary of the uprising that toppled Hosni Mubarak turned violent on Sunday.<br /><br /> Several people were killed and dozens arrested. Numerous protesters died when clashes broke out with security forces in Cairo. <br /><br /> Activists were mourning the death of a female protester on Saturday, killed during a remembrance for those who died during the revolt.<br /><br /> Elsewhere in the city, two policemen were injured in a bomb attack at a police station.<br /><br /> Others protesters were killed in Alexandria, Egypt’s second largest city, where a city tram was firebombed.<br /><br /> The current government has adopted a zero tolerance for street protests. A law adopted in 2013 banned them without prior permission.<br /><br /> Police have sealed off Cairo’s Tahrir Square and tightened security elsewhere.
