The 'Greetingman' Project: Spreading Korean Public Art Around the World- artist scultor,Yoo Young-ho<br />In Montevideo, Uruguay, exactly halfway across the world from Korea, there is a 6-meter tall blue sculpture of a man bowing? this is the Greetingman. He transcends both culture and race, sharing a message of peace and reconciliation with all. The Greetingman is a global project that aims to install versions of the sculpture in places that have been affected by wars, are historically significant, or mark locations where civilizations have interacted.<br />The man behind this Korean messenger of peace is artist Yoo Young-ho. While was studying in Germany, he came to realize the importance of a greeting in opening up communication between people and cultures.<br />With the goal of establishing Greetingman sculptures in 1000 significant locations around the world, in 2015 Greetingman #3, #4, and #5 are set to be installed in South America.
