Egypt has carried out airstrikes in Libya as part of a coordinated effort with the Libyan air force.<br /><br />Both say they were targeting fighters affiliated with the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant. <br /><br />The strikes took place after ISIL released a video showing the killing of 21 Egyptian coptic Christians.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Gerald Tan reports.
