Ecuador’s government is working with private industry to make 4G technology accessible to all. This is part of a larger project to improve and expand technology. The use of 4G is expected to greatly increase the data capacity of the users. Movistar and Claro have signed a contract in which they agree to pay the Ecuador government U$300 million for access to wider frequency ranges. The contract will expire in 2023. teleSUR
