French farmers main beneficiaries of EU's Common Agricultural Policy

<p>The EU's Common Agricultural Policy was launched in 1962 in order to ensure the continent’s food security. Half a century later, Europe’s system of farming subsidies remains controversial because it accounts for almost 40% of the EU budget.
