During last summer's Israeli attack on the Gaza Strip, Tel Aviv deliberately targeted 80% of the Palestinian enclave's factories, seriously endangering its economy. The Palestinian Ministry of National Economy allocated US$2,500 to more than 1,600 factory owners, although officials recognized that the compensation does not come close to covering their losses.
